alright i know a little here and there about cars, but ive always been confused when a car is V6, but 24V at the same time, another question, what do cams do, and what are the advantages of single or dual overhead cams, any info would help, thanks

when a car has a V6 with 24V(alves) it means it has 4 valves for each cylinder. the cam is the thing that operates the valves. as it spins around lobes on the camshaft push the valves down. a DOHC engine allows more air to be brought into the engine therefore, more power.

It means the time when valves open and close and how long they stay open changes depending on the RPMs, to be either more efficient at low speed or more powerful at high speed.
