Can You rebuild an A/C compressor or refurbish yerself? Mine has lost all the oil from the unit and dont wanna spend $200-300 for a new 1 if i can help it... pretty mech. inclined so I could do it if poss. thnx in advance to all who reply....

The only thing "servicable" is the clutch, bearings and front seal, i believe. You'll need some special tools to replace the seal i think your going for.. I went to a salvage yard and picked a compressor up for $80, with a warranty..
