I will be installing a new power steering pump and wondered if there will be any difficulty with removing the pulley and installing on the new pump.

Is a pulley-puller necessary?

YES it sure is. They do not jump off when you look at them.
Some parts places rent or loan pullers.
The new or rebuilt pump comes with a pulley installer bolt.
Good luck

I have never had to use a puller on a honda power steering pump pulley. On some years the bolt that holds the pulley on is left handed threads.

Just for info the pulley fell off in my hands....nothing like my old K5 Blazer Power Steering Pulley...needed an act of god to get that thing off!
