Toyota @ LA Auto Show "06calicelica 01-16-2006, 02:57 AM just want to share a bit of my spectacle. I went to the show to see the mighty 1001 HP Veyron. Smaller than I thought it would be. Next of my concern is what Toyota got in their sleeves in term of power vehicles. Nothing. They did not even show us the new Lexus concept in the Lexus area. 2007 Camry hybrid stole attention, as I bet will be the car most sought after this March. Its looks can kill, I assure you, powered by 2.4L vvt-i V6 that potentially spits out 158 HP combined w/ some electric 650V magnet motor...and then theres "Yaris", a 106 HP 1.5L electric shaver that looks like almost identical to a civic in both liftback trim and sedan (but it gives 40 mpg highway)... The new Toyota FJ Cruiser isn't shown, although that beast should've been the highlight...They also got a "game show" going on to attract attendee, participated by some ppl who answered multiple-choiced question like; "which celebrity didn't own a prius?" - which answer would be "D. Kermit the Frog". (for real, now). Everything else is the same stuff w/ slightly "class-conscious interior/exterior upgrades". Toyota is bound to sell camry/highlander hybrid while introducing that "Yaris" guy this year. Hopefully next year there will be space for a supra.... a glimmer of hope indeed. Celica_Crazy 01-17-2006, 09:14 AM i agree, i feel that toyota has let go of the performance department. i was devastated when i found out that supra was cut in 2002, i just couldnt believe it. i hope they do make em again. blakscorpion21 01-17-2006, 09:20 AM the supra was cut in 98. LaYzIeNoY 01-17-2006, 10:03 PM toyota's only half sporty car would be the scion tc then even released a trd supercharger for it, since the canned the celica and mr2 it sucks, I mean even honda has the S2000 Celica_Crazy 01-17-2006, 10:22 PM the supra was cut in 98. lol, i thought it was either 98 or around 2002 ( i have no idea why i thought that ) calicelica 01-19-2006, 01:52 AM Im going to attend art center next year for auto design...I noticed that they make A LOT of S2000 concepts! I swear theres @ least a dozen versions of S2000's 1:8 scale models that were shown in the convention. I'd hate to switch camp to Honda guys... BTW, almost got my hand on an alltrac from ebay thats starts its bid @ $1500. Unfortunately its located 3000 miles from where I live, and the end price was $4750. OH.... to think that I was so excited for the past couple of days...one day. one day. ps; tc is like a mean big fat sister! :P vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
