I bought an aftermarket cigarette lighter for my '92 Honda Accord EX because the one in the car is no longer working. I have the correct part according to the new lighter's packaging. However, it does not come with instructions on how to replace the old with the new. Please Help. :screwy:

If you're talking about the piece that removes and has the filiment that heats, then you need to be shot. Otherwise what part are you talking about?

The entire lighter ... not just the element .

Should be simple, Make sure that the center wire from the old one is on the center of the new one ( +12 Volts when powered ) If possible solder and tape or shrink wrap tubing all connections. Removal of the old one will be the biggest challenge IMO.

Make sure you have voltage to the old one first, that may be the reason it is not working. OEM is always better than aftermarket in most cases.
