Brute Force Intakechuck16 01-14-2006, 10:10 PM Hey Guys, Well I just got my AEM Brute Force Intake from 05xtcat and it's great. Extra power and a great rumble on Acceleration. Tight fit but, sure cleans up the Engine compartment. Enjoy the pics Before: http://www.gm-trucks.com/gallery/albums/userpics/26892/normal_stock.jpg After: http://www.gm-trucks.com/gallery/albums/userpics/26892/normal_AEM.jpg nineball481 01-15-2006, 04:31 PM Congrats. That filter looks larger than my K&N. I love the sound difference it makes, as well as the added HP/mileage. Its win/win/win. Enjoy, Jake chuck16 01-15-2006, 04:48 PM Thanks man, I was quite surprised at how large the filter was too. But it fits in there pretty snugly. Cheers Evan BlenderWizard 01-15-2006, 08:28 PM Congrats. That filter looks larger than my K&N. I love the sound difference it makes, as well as the added HP/mileage. Its win/win/win. Enjoy, Jake Yeah that Brute Force looks narrower and longer than the K&N, while the K&N seems to be shorter and wider. I guess you could use a K&N cleaning/re-oiling kit on that when the time comes? kenwood guy 01-16-2006, 12:24 AM on your stock setup whats that plastic peace that that cuts right on your intake my truck does not have that nice setup!! jasonb01 01-16-2006, 01:18 AM on your stock setup whats that plastic peace that that cuts right on your intake my truck does not have that nice setup!! I was wondering the same thing. OGG 01-16-2006, 06:42 AM My Subaru had the same thing. I think it's supposed to help with low end torque. I didn't figure the V8 would need it but I guess every bit helps. chuck16 01-16-2006, 10:33 AM on your stock setup whats that plastic peace that that cuts right on your intake my truck does not have that nice setup!! I believe it's a silencer. I've been told that piece and the piece below the intake are silencers to help control the intake noise to make it a little quiter. Guess I'll take my Stock intake and sell it on eBay or something. :icon16: BlenderWizard 01-16-2006, 04:58 PM I believe it's a silencer. My old one was molded and not detachable; however, the bottom piece is detachable. :D merritr 01-16-2006, 05:13 PM That filter looks like it been through a bit. You should update to AEMs new dry filter. It won't get so beat up looking over time. You just have to clean the filter occassionally and you don't ever have to worry about oiling it. Plus since it does not contain any oil it cannot cause the MAF sensor failure attributed to filter oil getting on the sensor. I just wanted to fill you in on the new filter in case you were unaware of its existance. chuck16 01-16-2006, 05:19 PM Yeah I was looking at that filter on their site the other day.... I Figure I'd leave this one for a little bit but, order the Dry one Later this year maybe. kenwood guy 01-17-2006, 12:46 AM wow I saw the video looks like im getting that i dont want to mess with oil BlenderWizard 01-17-2006, 07:46 AM Hmmm... I like the no oiling part... I wonder if a Dryflow filter is available that will fit my K&N intake? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
