99 Durango Starting Prob In Cold WeatherJadensPapa 01-14-2006, 12:06 PM Hello,Was wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be that my durango doesnt like to start in cold weather(under 39 degrees).I live in Erie Pa,It has been 40&above the last few weeks(durango was giving me afew probs after xmas, was kinda cold then too).It has been great since NYeve,It snowed this morning and is about30 degrees out(18 w/wind).I have done afew things but still cant figure out why it wants to give me probs. If it has been started and ran alittle while you can start it again as long as it hasn't sit longer then 8hrs. Can anyone give me an idea of what might be the prob? 1thunder 01-15-2006, 12:16 PM what engine? i'm assuming a 5.2 or 5.9 did you tune it and replace cap rotor and H/T wires also check fault codes and check coil for seperation where mounting screws go through and did you try assisting with the gas pedal about 1/4 way down to see if this helps JadensPapa 01-16-2006, 05:19 PM Thanks 1Thunder....I found the problem last night. The wire from ignition to distribitor cap was shot at the end.Put new wire on and running great.Gonna finish up the rest of the wires, cap,&rotor this coming weekend. Also throw some newer plugs in.Gotta get a rear wheel speed sensor also.Thanks. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
