Door locks when put in drive

OK boys and girls, here is the dilemma,
94 GMC Safari/V-6 Vortec.
My door locks work fine while operation from any door switch, they used to lock when I put the van in drive.
That function has stopped working.
There is nothing addressing this function in any of my manuals or wiring diagrams. Where (if there is one) is the switch that controls
this function? I suspect that it has to be somewhere on or around the steering column.

This is driving me nuts.... only because I let it....

Thanks for any information

We have a 2001 AWD Safari and when we put it in drive, its doors to NOT auto-lock. We used to have a 1995 Safari and its doors did NOT auto-lock either. Are you sure the doors used to "auto-lock"? Either both our vans are broken or perhaps your specific year has this function that they tried and decided NOT to use the next years? Or, perhaps there some setting I need to enable on our 2001 Safari van. Not too sure....

Hopefully, others will reply to this thread. If something is broke (or not enabled) on my van, I'd like this feature too.

thanks.

Auto-lock is an option, it tells in the owners manual how to program it. There are 3 or 4 different possibilities so you can program it to your liking. If memory serves correct, the drivers door lock switch the ignition switch and the cruise "coast" button are used in programming. Very obscure programming sequence, took me a couple of tries to get it to accept the command.
