Well im in the market for a new car (either the 06wrx or 06si). i currently have a 95eclipse gs-t with a lot of mods on it but time to move on. Ive driven the wrx and all but everytime i go to a honda dealer to test drive the si they say no because they dont want to put miles on it and i think thats crap. Anyone have one or test driven one that can give me some feedback on the car. Ive always had a turbo car so i feel like leaving it is going to be hard. I like the honda more for looks and fuel economy and price than anything. 197hp isnt bad but that torque just kills. Any feedback and which to go for?

I say go back up there, tell them you want to test drive it, if they say no tell them your going to buy a wrx instead. If they expect you to buy a car before test driving it then I am suprised they have ever sold a car. Sorry Im not much help since I havent driven a new si yet, just figured id give my opinion about that dealership.

Si over a Subi...I dont agree. Have you driven an AWD car? So much fun, great handling. The VW 2.0T was the new SI compitition. You should read up about there # battles when making ur decision. I heard it put this way " You have to drive the Si like you stole it to enjoy its power."

Werd! I definitely agree with what BrodyP says.
Personally I have not driven the new SI. But I have driven the new EX, WRXs and also 04 RSX-S. Lots of times... I guess the closer comparison would be the type S to a new SI. Anyways, RSX-S pulls hard, but you really have to wind it up. Honda is meant to be wound up, but I really doubt that you will drive like that every day. On the otherhand, WRX definitly has more torque from the get go. Yeah, you have some turbo lag, but it still feels strong at lower end. And the best part is, it is AWD! Take it around a sharp turn and see what happens.
Don't get me wrong, I think the new SI is a sweet ride. But comparing the two, even though I am a die hard Honda owner and fan, I would probably buy a WRX.

if you are shopping for price- si
if you are shoping for preformance- wrx

a honda is always fun to mod. and make fast

Considering current dealer marketups prices between the Si and WRX are quite close. It all comes down to if you want better fuel economy while sacrifices a bit of sportiness or something with more raw performance and practicality but with higher insurance costs.
If you want great fuel economy, practicality, reasonable insurance quotes and have a ride that is still quite sporty you can always wait for the 4 door Si.

test drive both and see which one youd rather have and if your willing to pay the extra $$$ for the wrx...i havent seen any '06 SIs on the street yet so maybe a little bit of being unique there
