Ride height

Does a shock affect right height? My buddy and i are arguing over weather or not a shock can affect ride height. I say no that is what your springs do. He says yes, a blown shock could change ride height.

I agree with you, the shocks do not hold up the vehicle, the springs do. So technically you're right. That being said, I have noticed that because gas charged shocks will extend themselves out to full length when released, they do impart a small amount of lift to the vehicle, although this amount is very small.
