Hey,

When im going down the highway, say going like 70, i can hear noises like something is loose on the outside and hitting the car. I cant really describe it but its like if you have something on the top of the car and you have it strapped down, well the sound sounds like a strap hitting the car goin down the road, thats about as good as i can describe it. But when i went to look for anything loose i cant see anything loose. So im not sure what it could be.

Also when my jeep is idling the exhaust is rattling. I think that it is the cat but im not sure. I just put it on a few weeks ago and the rattling started about a week ago. It only does it b/w idle-1500 rpm.

Any help with be appreciated.

I'd have someone drive alongside and see what's flapping.


Park your vehicle with the engine on and have a look & listen underneath to see where the rattle is coming from.

If you have the adjustable roof rack slide them into a different position. Mine were making a whistling noise going down the highway. It sounded like it wa coming from the top right part of my windshield. Slided the racks and the noise was gone

Yea if you have the roof rack, the rails are prolly rattling, I had this same problem, I just adjusted the rails so they were at an angle this puts tension on the rails and keeps them from fluttering about.
