Indiglo Gauge Lights Keep Shutting Off!

Sup Guys,

I purchased my reverse gauge indiglo's back in june, I installed them properly and they have worked fine up until recently. For some reason sometimes after my car is on for a little while (5-10 minutes) the indiglo gauge lights shut off at times they come back on but at times they just stay off. Anyone ever have this problem? I tried moving the wires around to see if possibly it was a loose wire but everything seems in tack. The indiglo lights dont flicker when I move the wires around so I dont think its that. Any ideas?

Thanks

had the same problem. They worked fine for months. Then they would start to shut off after a while. The next step is they just stop coming on and will randomly pop on after about an hour or so but just for a minute... I just bought a new inverter for mine. I didn't install it yet. It's from a different company but I imagine they all work the same. I'm putting it in on sunday. I'll let you know how it goes.

I got the new inverter from speedhut I think it was.. My gauges are euro style reverse indiglo's from ebay with a cheap inverter that came only with an on off switch.

How much did you pay for the inverter?

I didn't want to shell out 40 for a new set of gauges so 16 was much better if it works. if not ill give in and pay for a new set to go with this inverter

That invertor looks the same as the one that mine came with but I never had any problems with them coming and going.

okay so I replaced the box. it fixed it. my one color gauges now go two color and dim with that switch in the link. I will note that mouting the switch is a bitch. I put it down by my right knee. IT doesn't hit it. It's just the connections are a pain in the ass. Make sure that you have a long enough lead coming off the headlight switch wire (see the pic floating around somewhere). Then you can toss the box to the right side of the gauges and fish the switch out down below simply by removing the lower grey panel below the steering wheel. I didn't have to cut that panel at all just screw the switch plate onto it. Also I shocked myself cause I had the car on and was testing fitment while I was sitting in the seat. The back of the switch isn't heat shrunk like the rest of the stuff in the switch kit.

toicy4ya could you do me a favor? I noticed when I pulled out my cluster that two bulbs were not installed in the back. They had holes but no bulbs. Could you confirm if this is the case with yours? If not I wanna go to mitsubishi and check what they are for..

Thanks

I'll look into it and get back to you.

I'm happy you were able to fix the problem with the inverter. Do you think they sell those for reverse indiglo's?

thats what mine are.

They have white faces, little numbesr around the outside that lit up and then the centers have a ring of color (blue or green now previously just blue).

I'll take a picture of them later tonight and post.

Thats with the setting on blue about 75% of the way turned up on the dimmer. It's about as bright as my old on off switch inverter at that point. At 100% it's really bright.

Yup those are the exact gauges I got. I took my cluster out today and noticed a loose wire so I just fixed that in hopes that it would solve the problem, if not i'll probably be going your route and just puchase an invertor.

NOVA I looked in the back of my cluster and noticed that I also have two hole's on either end of my cluster where it appears as if two lights belong. I think it's like that from stock. I wouldnt worry about it.
