1995 limited g.c. 4WD window problems.skyscrapers__ 01-12-2006, 11:23 PM hi, I know there's been quite a few posts for this, but not for my model or anything like that... and I need help quite badly, so please if you could, help me. ohkay...i first purchased this car about a year ago, and the windows worked fine and about six months ago, they would only work sometimes, like 1 out of every 4 times I would start the car, now... none of the windows work they dont respond to any of the controls on any of the windows... is there a simple way to fix this that wont cost me a crapload of money? and if there is, please simplify it to the max, because I am not exactly the most experienced person when it comes to jeeps. any and all help is much appreciated. THANKS SO MUCH. Bob D. 01-13-2006, 01:40 AM It's probably the window regulators, one for each window and not cheap. Not an easy job for someone lacking practical experience. Save money by repairing one at a time...look for wrecking yard parts. BenBB 01-13-2006, 08:27 AM I also have kind of that same problem except it is with the front driver side window. When i push the switch down the window will go a little ways then stops, i have to push the switch again and sometimes up and back down for the window to go all the way. Does anyway know what that is, and how to fix it. dksob81 01-13-2006, 08:41 AM Check the wiring in the door jam, runs from the inside of the jeep to the door, slide the rubber boot back and look for any broken wire(s). Check between all the doors. Bob D. 01-13-2006, 09:41 AM I also have kind of that same problem except it is with the front driver side window. Here is a trick I learned from an old jeep tech when dried out weather stripping causes window problems: If the window/s are sluggish or stalling when trying to open or close them and it appears as if the motor is weak, get a can of Silicone Spray Lube. Spray liberal amounts on the weather stripping that faces the flat side of the window glass inside and out and in the channels on the side. Work the window up and down, moving it by hand if need be. Continue until the window moves on its own. It might take a couple of days before the dried out weather stripping loosens up fully but the window should move easily on its own once it does. Worked great on an old Jeep Cherokee I owned. BenBB 01-13-2006, 10:01 AM Yea because when it goes up and down it is sluggish and slow. So if i take a can of that spray and spray it on the inside and outside strip, within a few days it should be fine? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
