draining the radiatortcyanks1 01-12-2006, 08:44 PM I just tried to drain the radiator on my 02 blazer. I found the little white plug on the passenger side and loosened it with a 1/4 rachet but not much came out. I put Prestone cleaner in and it filled up quickley. Is there another drain or is the dex-cool that sludged up that it pluged the radiator? I flushed out the heater core today and the air is very hot, but I wanted to get the radiator flushed out too. I have read the other post on this subject but just wondering what anybody thought. I have purchased a flush kit and planed on doing it. Thanks for any help. DetroitMuscle 01-12-2006, 09:03 PM should be bottom driver side for the petcock, or directly on the bottom. Where are you going to flush this at out of curiosity? You might be better off taking it in to get that done, that EPA fine is a PITA. BlazerLT 01-12-2006, 09:05 PM bottom driver's side. Jus ta valve you turn. You should really find out what you are doing before you just start removing things like this. blazee 01-12-2006, 09:25 PM It sounds like you had the right plug. It is on the passenger side bottom. After you turn it 1/4 - 1/2 turn, you have to pull out on it to open it. There are pictures of it in this thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=498467 BlazerLT 01-12-2006, 11:04 PM Where do most people have this draining petcock? srbianats 01-13-2006, 12:47 AM On my 98 it's on the passenger side. biv343 01-13-2006, 08:30 AM Passenger side on my 99 Jeremy Fitch 01-13-2006, 09:45 AM 96 Passenger side. Lucky you. Some of the 96's don't have a drain. Guess who got one of those little beauties. HEY, I think I figured out the purpose of the Blazer. It's to keep the parts replacement people in business. I figure after parts replacement costs and doing my own labor, it costs me about $.95 a mile to drive it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
