How do I change the Alternator on 95 SLTnit78 01-12-2006, 03:54 PM Hello Everyone, Does anyone have a link to maybe a step by step way to change my alternator and belt on my 1995 Blazer SLT. Thanks BlazerLT 01-12-2006, 09:07 PM There is no guide but you can go and pickup a haynes or chilton's manual like everyone else here. ldr1ff 01-12-2006, 10:14 PM If it is like my 96 blazer, it was relatively a snap to do. I did mine in the parking lot of a chevy dealership when my truck broke down on the interstate. The alternator is simple to remove, the serp belt was easy to remove once i figured that a 3/8" ratchet fits perfectly in a square hole made at the factory to relieve tension on the serp belt at the tensioner. You'll know if you are turing the tensioner the right way. Take a good look before you remove the belt so you can see the position of the belt on all the pulleys. Use the pulley/belt diagram on your radiator shrowd to visualize how the belt runs. The it is simple to remove the belt, replace the alternator, and install a new berlt (you did remember to buy a new belt, right?). Took me all of a half hour to do mine with a basic handtool set. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
