The rear lamp failure message shows in the info center. I have changed bulbs, removed and cleaned, done everything I know. What next. All lights work the message is annoying.

did you check your 3rd brake light? usually that is the culprit. also, same thing kept happening to me and I found out the connect points on the bulbs would wear down have make a little connection. you know those to metal parts on the bulbs end. try looking at that and if they are indented then replace them. worked for me.

What teemsta said is right on. Just to add that the wrong wattage bulb can do the same thing.

Well, recheck all the bulbs (high mount stop light, stop/tail lights/turn signals, reverse lights, license plate lights, Side Markers make sure you check the side markers in the front as well they are parts of the rear lamps.) Make sure they all work The High mount stop light has 2 or 3 bulbs depending on the year. Also make sure you use the right bulbs, look in your owners manual or search for posting of REAR LAMP FAILURE here on the forum, I have posted the listing of the bulbs for each light.

I finally got rid of my REAR LAMP FAILURE message a few months ago, I had it appear when I first bought my jeep couldn't find a bad bulb, had a friend check the bulbs while I held the brakes, turn signal, reverse light, etc. he said there was nothing wrong, then one day I got annoyed by it and had my girlfriend hold the brakes and such while I checked for a bad bulbs, I checked it at night so I could see it easier, and there I foudn it one of the high mount stop lights were out, replaced it and all was good for about a year. this last time, I foudn that my license plate bulbs were blown, replaced them didn't get rid of the message, checked over the rest of them couldn't find anything, then I seen that the front side marker were wired into the rear lamps, so I checked them and they were both bad, repplaced them with ones that I had out of my cavalier and they worked now but the message never went away, so that lasted for about another month, then I decided to go to the dealership and get all new bulbs (stop/tail lights, turn signal, side markers front and rear, reverse, license plate, high mount stop) well I replaced them all and finally the message went away.
