Accord door lock problemmistherd13 01-11-2006, 01:44 AM For about two months I haven't been able to keep my '94 Accord EX locked. When my (power) locks are triggered, it will keep triggering over and over and won't stop. It started when it did it a couple of times, then a few more and now it just keeps going endlessly. I can't fully lock my car because manually locking the driver's side door triggers the power lock system. I don't know if it's related, but my AutoPage alarm system that must be connected to the power lock system (it has the lock/unlock buttons I used since I bought the car) stopped working a month or so before this. It seemed like it was in valet mode, but I followed the directions to get the alarm system out of valet mode and it never would. All I can find online is a problem with the door lock actuator, but I'm not convinced since it's usually that the door stops locking when it's an actuator problem, not that the door keeps locking. I'm a college student living on campus and I'm so nervous about someone stripping my car. What are the possible problems, and which is the most likely? phantastic1 01-12-2006, 01:38 AM not completely true if your actuators go bad. yes it can completely quit working entirely...however these door lock actuators have plastic gears inside...and over time....they just end up wearing and slipping....hince the sound you hear as it attempts to lock itself. mistherd13 01-12-2006, 03:04 AM My next problem would be replacing the actuator. My personal mechanic has given me a quote for $185 (I don't know the breakdown of this into labor and parts, however). If I were to buy the actuator separately, what should I look for? How do I know I'm getting a good value/deal, instead of a bad value/rip-off? phantastic1 01-12-2006, 05:23 PM i havent seen any aftermarket store (ie. autozone, o'reilly's, etc.) carry these. have to come from dealer. if i can remember correctly...door lock actuators run about 85-95 bux. you can try finding an online oem parts dealer....may be able to get it to you at wholesale price. i forgot what that website is...but if you search the honda forums...i've seen it posted quite a few times. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
