I bought a neon was wanting to know which engine I have, there is no cover over it foir me to tell. If it has two gears showing after removing timing belt does that mean DOHC? 1 Gear = SOHC 2 Gears = DOHC zombie_tech 01-11-2006, 11:36 AM yes it will put the oil light on for low oil or at least pressure changes that are symptomatic of being low on oil. das2123 01-11-2006, 01:25 PM yes it will put the oil light on for low oil or at least pressure changes that are symptomatic of being low on oil. That is worded better than my answer :p nuwt 11-10-2006, 03:52 PM Sorry for the bump, bur I thought I would share this. My oil light has flickered at highway speeds for almost a year and I could not find the problem. Well I just replaced the intake gasket after car starting missing at idle and now my oil light has not came on. I checked for electrical shorts but could not find one. I don't know what the intake gasket leaking has to do with making oil light flicker but there was a coincidence involved. Mike7468 11-29-2006, 10:10 AM I seem to have the same problem. bought my daughter a 95. What would be a few good tricks to test around the intake gasket. The oil light seems to come on, and off at random. nuwt 12-24-2006, 02:20 PM I found mine when I was spraying Carb cleaner around the intake. It made the engine run different. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
