Ok so about a month ago my emergency brake stopped working. Didnt think much of it at the time i finally got around to looking at it. I removed the middle console and noticed that the cable that connects to the lever was snapped. what I want to know is am i going to have to replace the entire cable and if so how much will it cost? Also if anyone has any helpful tips on replacing the cable it would be greatly appriciated. I drive a 1993 isuzu rodeo 4x4 3.2L standard transmission.

depending on where the break in the cable is, you might be able to loop it back around...but doubt it. the best way to change it is to disconnect it underneath, then tape the new cable to the old one before you pull it through, this will give it an almost identical run.

fyi...e-brakes aren't for sliding on ice....
