I get the rapid tick of the flasher but no acutal flash for the left turn. I check the bulbs etc and the signals work with the four way flashers and right turn but not left. What is my next step? Checked the ground etc.

I have been told the flasher unit is part of the 4-way flash and also told it is not. ?????

I think it is. Also told that since only one side is the problem and 4-way work it is not the lights of flasher that is the problem. Moisture on the switch? ( as it has acted up before on the other side once; however, a bulb change with electrica greese helped that.)

The nest step is the signal switch which is housed in the steering colum and required that the whell be pulled etc. Also told by the dealer that the switch is $250.00 CDN. That and a couple of hours labor. Approx 1/2 to 3/4 diagnostic and 1.3 for the labor to replace the switch if needed.

Before I go that route I am willing to try other ideas! Please provide options!

PS I reallly love this car.... GLS ... is the nicest car I have ever owned.

generally the flasher is part of the circuit and is not divided in any way left or right. I don't have the schematics and my dad is too cheap to pay for www.alldatadiy.com (http://www.alldatadiy.com) account (it's his turn to pay $25 a year). For $25 alldatadiy is a wealth of info and you could probably replace the switch yourself.

It most likely is the switch like the mechanic said since you said all the lights work when the hazard button is pressed. The hazards and the turn signals use the same bulbs + filaments (a dual filament bulb may have 1 filament burned out) right?

I would go over those bulbs and contacts one more time and make sure there is good contact and no corrosion. Look for bad filaments also = you can do a resistance (ohm-meter) test on them just to be safe.

Dinky electrical problems like this are always a pain in the ass.

Did You ever find a resolution to is issue. I'm having the exact same problem, although it is happening with the right side. Fast click, but no flash....everything flashes with the hazard switch
