Bigger tires?? What about drive affect? Advice?

People asking about how big of a tire they can fit with or without a lift. I'm interested in how much the larger tires affect the actual drive/RPM of the Xterra, once installed. Here's my situation:
I have a 2000 manual 5spd X, on which, I am going to install an AC 3" suspension lift. I would like to install some Eagle 186 15x8 wheels w/a 30mm offset. If, I can fit 32" on my X, utilizing these wheels (without having to cut metal to prevent rubbing) how bad will the excelleration/RPM's be affected? I am currently running 31x10.50x15's on the factory rims and there is some noticeable change with the exceleration and RPM's. Any of you w/32's care to comment? Anyone knoweldgeable about offsets that can confirm/deny wether or not I'll have a "rubbing" issue on metal? I'm not conerned about plastic as I am going to use a TJM bull bar/bumper on the front and am will to cut plastic till the cows come home!

Thanks ahead!

32's will not be a problem with a 3" suspension lift and stock wheels. Yes, of course you will have a decrease in acceleration as with all larger sized tires.

Schludwiller, if I were to mount the 32"s onto 15x8 aftermarket rims with a -19mm offset, after the 3" lift, do you think I will have clearance problems? Like I said, I have no probs cutting plastic... Just don't want to get into sheet metal butchering.

Thanks!

OffroadX should be passing through here soon. He knows all the offset stuff. I just stay with stock 15" wheels for my tires. You could also search for "offset" in this forum. There aren't that many wheels that work with the Xterra so I'm sure someone has asked about the offset you're talking about.

Actually, I dunno much about specifics, I just say suck it up and stick with the stock wheels. However, 19mm negative offset will pull the wheel in quite a bit, I doubt that will work well.

Believe me, fellas, I have been stewing over the wheel issue for a few weeks now. You are definately making me lean to just installing new 32"s on the OEM wheels.. OffroadX, do you happen to know what the offset is for the 2000 15" factory wheels?

I appreciate it!

Someone mark this date down. I'm shocked!

Stock 15x7 wheels are about 5.25" backspacing, +40mm offset.
