Camry OEM Brake Pads & ShoesTechventure 01-08-2006, 12:47 AM Where is the best place to buy Toyota OEM brake pads and shoes in Ontario, Canada ? I need rear pads and shoes for emergency brake for 1992 V6. Thanks. toyotajeff 02-06-2006, 05:17 PM If you still need these let me know. Techventure 02-06-2006, 05:37 PM I bought ceramic brake pads and did not put on emergency brake shoes at this time. We never use the emergency brake as 95% of the people we know don't use it. This would be necessary if we were selling the car and had to have it pass an inspection. We are not planning on selling. They wanted $100.00 Cdn. per shoe plus $75.00 Cdn. for the spring set from the dealer we contacted. This would have been $475.00 plus 15% taxes = $546.25 plus my labour. I could afford the labour....the brake shoe cost is rediculous !!! :shakehead Curious ....what would your shoe cost that you found. Much appreciate your interest. We never use the emergency brake as 95% of the people we know don't use it What do you mean "emergency brake shoes?" They are not "emergency shoes", they ARE the rear brakes! It just happens that the emergency brake (lever) is connected to them, but if you don't have those working, you only have brakes on the front wheels! Techventure 02-09-2006, 07:17 PM Sorry Accordcodger....I don't think you are knowledgeable about the camry. My 1992 V6 camry has brake pads and calipers on the front and on the rear for regular braking purposes. The rear rotor also contains a drum...drum and rotor are all one part. Inside the drum are brake "shoes" somewhat smaller than you would find for everyday braking purposes. These shoes are attached to the emergency cable controlled by pushing on an emergency brake pedal or on some models it may be by pulling on an emergency brake lever. That is why I did not replace them. Rest assured I have full braking power ! Thanks for your concern. :grinyes: csaxon 02-09-2006, 10:21 PM 1992 e brake us$ MSRP can be had for about $13 ea part#46540-33010 =$18.66 46550-33010 =$18.72 46540-33010 =$18.66 (yes this is the same as the first number) 46590-33010 =$18.66 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
