The Toyota bulletin (2002 Highlander) for programming keyless remotes shows 4 different programming modes: ADD, REWRITE, CONFIRMATION, and PROHIBITION modes.

The ADD mode seems obvious that it is for adding new remotes, but the other three modes do not seem so obvious.

I have lost one of the two original keyless remotes for my vehicle and have purchased a replacement remote. I would like to program the system to allow only the two remotes currently in my possession and to disable the lost remote from unlocking the vehicle.

I suspect that I will need to use the REWRITE mode for my application. Any assistance regarding these programming modes as they apply to my circumstance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
