Alright im pretty sure, that Greddy makes CARB exempt turbo kits, but i dont know if the S14 is one of them, so if anyone can come back with either a positive or negative answer, and living in ca, what you think my chances of getting caught are, if i keep everything low, and dont act like an asshole with it. I think the only thing that would give me a way is the FMIC.

You could paint the fmic black...visit greddys website or email them for info...I called them and they are good about helping...

Greddy only makes an S14 Kit and it is Carb Exempt.

If you care to hide the front mount from the outside enough just move your radiator back and put the intercooler behind the core support.

Painting intercoolers won't matter at all. just keep it thin so you dont clog up the fins.

alright well im gonna go off what you said, and i probablyjust leave the intercooler the way it is.

People suck at giving information, people at Turbokits.com saids its not carb exempt, some othre place, gofastperformce.com said it was carb legal. I dont get it, but whatever, im going through with it either way, im over this legal bs.

this is a ricer thing to do, but i guess you could put that mesh metal/plastic shit people put behind bod kit vents. Its probably a gay thing to do, but its just another option. I would send it off to get anodized, that would be sick.

ya i think if it wont cost me a rediculous amount of money, i may get it anodized. But i just dont get why anyone cant give a unanimous answer and be like yes its legal, no is not. like how hard was that. But im gonna go off what R.W. said, that its legal.

Greddy turbo kits are legal on OBD2 cars, so you need to have 96+ S14. And intercoolers are usually anodized, if you want a black one you could get one from a used car ( http://www.student.kun.nl/p.oonincx/Intercooler.html ), or spray a very thin layer of paint on it, just enough to give it some color.

Edit: the volvo intecooler will look uber stock, like a radiator and people won't be able to tell a difference.

well then im gona be illegal either way, cuz i got a 95 with OB1 so i gotta send out the ECU to be tuned for an extra 600. But i dont think they would know the difference really, just from the outside. Now if i got impounded that would suck.
