98 Nissan Sani (Pathfinder) timing beltRykie 01-06-2006, 06:08 AM Where can I get detailed info to replace the timing belt on my 98 Sani 3.0 (Pathfinder in US)? Thanks lewisnc100 01-06-2006, 07:14 AM Any chance that engine is really a 3.3 and not a 3.0? If it is a 3.0, is that the same engine as the 95 Pathfinder? I've done the 3.3 timing belt change, not too much details that you'll need until you get to the actual tensioning of the new belt. Rykie 01-07-2006, 01:48 AM I think it is the same as the 95 Pathfinder. What I need to findout is what the tension of the new belt must be. lewisnc100 01-09-2006, 07:25 AM I think its the same as the 97 directions but you'll need to confirm, which was 13-15mm (.51-.59in) deflection between the camshaft pulleys when pushing with 22lbs force. The belt install instructions make it easier by using a .35mm (.0138in) thick 12.7mm (.5in) wide feeler gauge where the tensioner and the timing belt meet. Much easier to picture with the diagrams. You could get a one day subscription to nissantechinfo.com and download the service manual instructions for $19.95 for a day. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
