Yellow Eclipse with neon and working doorsHittenSwitches 01-06-2006, 01:53 AM Hey guys...My progress is pretty much done, but I wanted to post some pics of what I have so far until I do some final paint touch ups from some damages and some areas to fill in etc. Hope you like it. Ok as you can see there is the spot on the roof that needs to be painted, doors aren't fully complete, but you can get the idea of how they open http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Progress/IMG_0037.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Progress/IMG_0043.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Progress/IMG_0039.jpg I didn't realize when I first put the bumper on, but there is a gap on either side that I have to glue together, it moves easily so it can be done. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Progress/IMG_0065.jpg Here I am going to use the putty and fill in the holes where the spoiler goes...I'm not a fan of wings on an Eclipse, especially the chrome one that comes with this kit that Revell provided. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Progress/IMG_0042.jpg Hope you guys like it, I'm going to finish off the neons over the weekend and I'll have the pictures posted soon. MkIIboi 01-06-2006, 02:06 AM Sweet. Hurry with those pics i would like to see them soon :) but great work with the doors. HittenSwitches 01-06-2006, 03:05 AM Sweet. Hurry with those pics i would like to see them soon :) but great work with the doors. And good job with no wing, im on the same boat :bigthumb" Haha I'm working on it...Almost done the neon, so I'll probably have to the pics tomorrow or saturday hopefully if I'm not too busy. Are you building the eclipse model yourself? (when you said about the spoiler) Thanks for the comments on the doors guys...Those things take some pure patience to sit there and cut them out lol. I do trunks too, I put speakers and working ones in them...Keep an eye out in a few weeks for my Impala, I'll be making a thread with it in there, has actually speakers that work with a cd player, mp3 etc. Take care! cham2020 01-06-2006, 12:35 PM i like ur work bro. i think it should not have a gt wing .. dun like gt wing much :icon16: esp chrome version :D anyway, check out my threads :P sorry to hijack daklunk 01-06-2006, 09:40 PM Looks sweet! The Blitz kit looks good in yellow, I must say. Those doors open similarily to mine, but I have different hinges (I hope to post progress when I get more engine work done to it.) Can't wait to see the neon, I thought about putting it in mine, but blue LEDs were just too expensive. Looks good so far, can't wait to see some more progress! SteveK2003 01-06-2006, 11:03 PM That's cool. You did those door hinges yourself? HittenSwitches 01-07-2006, 01:05 AM That's cool. You did those door hinges yourself? Ya man, cut the doors out, got a piece of brass tubing from the local hardware store, glued them into the car...my first attempt so its a lil ruff looking, I'm mad cuz the glue got on the windsheild and it looks like crap now. But yea used some paperclips, coloured ones to blend with the car, and bent them to perfection...there is a thread somewhere that I saw it off of a while back, so I thought i'd try it. But I think i can get some updated pictures, just hvae to upload them now. HittenSwitches 01-07-2006, 01:15 AM Hey guys, I stayed up and got the neon done finally lol, well spent last nite up late doing them, did the pictures tonight. But here they are! Sorry, Its hard to capture the lights without showing barely car at all lol but here it is... Alrite, This is from the front of the car, showing the sides and engine compartment lit up with the neon. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0013.jpg Two close-ups of the engine with the neon in it http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0012.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0044.jpg Its hard to see, but these are in the shoulder rests of the rear seats, They make the interior glow blue. Its the lights on the right and bottom right, the one on the left is the ground one because I haven't had a chance to cover it up yet. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0045.jpg Hope you guys like it...I'm hoping to finish the car by the end of the weekend. It won't take me long :D cham2020 01-07-2006, 01:26 AM woah nice bro how u do them ? daklunk 01-07-2006, 01:58 AM Cool! So do you use an LED circuit? How about a power source? HittenSwitches 01-07-2006, 07:09 PM Well the dollar store near my house carried these christmas light sets that have 20 lights, 5 blue, 5 yellow, 5 red, and 5 green...Instead of the usual lightbulbs though they were LEDs, so I just cut the ones i wanted out, stripped the wires and joined them together. They use two AA batteries. Each light set comes with them, so I bought like 50 packs lol, for a dollar you can't go wrong. Didn't konw when i'd see them again, so i just got alot. Better than spending like 3 bucks for a single LED at an electronics store let alone wire and power source cost y'know. Works perfect for what i'm working with. Thanks for the comments again daklunk 01-07-2006, 08:30 PM Instead of the usual lightbulbs though they were LEDs, LED Chirstams lights? Never seen those... that'd be much better than buying them $3 a pop @ RadioShack... HittenSwitches 01-08-2006, 09:27 PM Ya man, I had never heard or seen them before in my life. So when they were there I figured I'd buy as many as I could since I like doing neons and am not sure when I'll ever be able to find them again. I mean one dollar and you have the power source, wire, and lights, all you have to do is strip the wires and connect them the way you want and your set...for the side thow I did them like actual tubes...got those tubes from a Windex bottle, cut them n stuck a light on either side, lights up the whole tube. Its perfect. Anyways, ttyl, Peace. HittenSwitches 01-13-2006, 10:27 AM Hey guys...Didn't mean to take this long with the progress, but all the touch ups and hole fillings have been done where the spoiler would have been...I haven't clear coated it yet, but I got some other pics of it all done...here ya go, hope you like them.... http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0020.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0018.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0017.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0016.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0015.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d120/HittenSwitches4/Eclipse%20Yellow%20Completed/IMG_0014.jpg I realized after, all my pictures are of the driving side door being up...i'm not going to retake them since i'm sure you know its the exact same on the passanger side lol...Take care guys, love to hear some comments...Peace! cham2020 01-13-2006, 10:55 AM woah nice nice nice.... i really like the doors :D HittenSwitches 01-13-2006, 12:53 PM woah nice nice nice.... i really like the doors :D lol Thanks man, appreciated cham2020 01-13-2006, 12:56 PM :D my pleasure bro ! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
