92 3.1L water pumptractorboy 01-05-2006, 03:59 PM My sister has a dodge caravan 3.1L V6. She has been losing coolant at a rapid rate. It is not in the oil, no outside coolant smell , nothing on the ground, no steam coming out thtail pipe...etc. She took it to an independant auto shop, they told her it was the water pump , then they said it would cost $100 for the pump and $300 for labor. so what do yo think about this ? why would that cost so much ? gbeach 01-05-2006, 04:14 PM My sister has a dodge caravan 3.1L V6. Is it a 3.0 or a 3.3 or 3.8? If it is a 3.0 it involves more labor because of the timing belt removal. The other ones all you have to remove is the serpentine belt. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
