98 jeep grand cherokee, no headlightsnoclue420 01-03-2006, 09:46 PM they worked at 5 am new years day, woke up right b4 vikes played meaningless game in afternoon, went to pull in garage and noticed no headlights weather I wanted them on or not. Replaced one bulb just to make sure I wazn't going crazy and same problem, no lights, did notice on taillight bulb waz out (because car told me so), so replaced bulb #194 and that fixed that, but still no headlights. Used ohm meter and made sure every fuse was still a short, and they still are, the big relays underhood? Don't know how to test. But all fuses underhood and by passanger feet are all good. Took voltage w/lights on at connector 2mV DC, pretty much nothing. Sound familliar to anyone, or should I invest in some really good flashlights and tape. noclue420 01-03-2006, 10:49 PM and then I just tried the highbeams and let there be light, clicked them back to norm. and they stayed on, :screwy: its late, I'm tired. oljeeptek 01-04-2006, 12:23 AM and then I just tried the highbeams and let there be light, clicked them back to norm. and they stayed on, :screwy: its late, I'm tired. Sounds like dirty contacts in the dimmer sw. Give'r a couple more clicks and if it stays working don't worry about it. Tazilla 01-18-2006, 08:38 PM I have the same problem, messed around turning them off and on for a while. They started working last night, I turned them on and off a few times no problem. Today, nothing. I don't get it, I have high beams but not regular lights. Of course that is with new light bulbs. Tazilla 01-19-2006, 10:39 PM Well I got it figured out, I happened to mess around with the tilt steering. When the wheel was up I had lights, when it was down they would go out. Come to find out a wire that connects to the dimmer/turn signal switch got pulled part way out some how. Oh well, the light bulbs were from the factory so they would have gone out sooner or later.
