I have a 99 tahoe LS with police package I bought used and the power steering feels very loose. I had my local chevy dealer put in a new steering box and it feels better but still very loose ( scary loose )
Also the alignment is alway pulling to one side even after a realignment.
Thanks

Is there play in the steering in the straight away position if you move the steering wheel back and forth off center and watch the tires for the same movement?

There is a little play( from 12 0clock to 10oclock ) when the truck is in park without the tires moving. When I'm on the hiway going 60+ I feel it 10x worst It feels like I have no control of the Tahoe

This is the play you need to focus on, check if it is in the gear box or the steering linkage, from under the hood manually rotate the shaft going into the gear box ( engine running) and see if the same movement is noted on the pitman arm coming out of the gear box, if not the box is worn or out of adjustment, if so, look at the tie rods and idler arm for wear. I am sure you have the proper tire pressure.

How can I adjust the box? Anyone have pictures of the location for adjustment?

Chevy Tahoe's are equipped with variable speed steering. My 97 2dr. Tahoe seems very loose also, and I have given up on it. It's supposedly very expensive to replace the sensor. On mine, when it's hot outside, it goes in and out of very loose to very tight steering. I can't believe the dealership or garage that replaced your steering box didn't know about the speed sensor for the steering.
Hope this helps.

Where exactly is this variable speed steering sensor located. Does anyone now the GM part number or its OEM replacement(sub)?

What's the correct name for the EVO? What's the part number? Does anyone other than the dealer carry it?

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bad pitman arm. Took care of the problem.
