What do I need to take it further?reXem 06-10-2002, 01:07 AM I have a ZC Engine in my 90 CRX Si. It is turboed currently at 6psi. All I have right now is a FPR and a timing retarder. Next week I am getting a Crane Ignition system with an external coil. I am going to rebuild my engine to a lower compression so I take the psi up to 15ish. Here is a list of what I think I need but I am novice to turbos so please let me know what I am overlooking. Also please let me know of what companies I should look at for these products. - Pistons - Rods - IC - are there any that will just fit a CRX or will it always require custom front end work? - Injectors - Fuel Rail - Fuel Pump - Programmable ECU (Thinking ZDyne) - Block Guard (or should I get the block pinned?) - Do I need a new Crank Shaft? - How reliable are Manual boost controllers? Should I not bother and save for an electronic one? - Anything Else? RedRocketGSR 06-17-2002, 06:38 PM Everything sounds good on what you have for plans. No, you wont need a new crankshaft unless you really want one. I havent heard anything bad or good about manual boost controls but i personally think that the electronic ones would be easier to use. What turbo are you running BTW? reXem 06-17-2002, 07:13 PM it is from a 88 or 89 Mazda 626 MAZDA 626, MX6 88-92 2.2L IHI RHB52W VJ-11X Those are the numbers for it...not too sure what they mean though :) pvang31019 06-17-2002, 10:36 PM Originally posted by RedRocketGSR Everything sounds good on what you have for plans. Thus you can both control you amount of boost and preserve some life to the turbo !:D GSteg 06-18-2002, 12:01 PM cranksharft should be ok because they are already forged when out of the factory. for the ECU, i recommend getting Hondata or Haltec. i think the hondata is more affordable like ~$1000. with good tuning on the ECU, you will be able to run boost like never before. also, i HIGHLY recommend getting your fuel injectors at importparts if you haven't already gotten them. they are only $72 bucks there. it's the RC engineering brand. pvang31019 06-18-2002, 06:29 PM for the price and function, I love my dual stage turboXS MBC velocitySiR 06-20-2002, 06:19 PM i'd be more worried about rod and bearings before a crank..... stock zc rods aren't anywhere close strong enough to hold 15pounds. Quetzolcotl 06-22-2002, 10:32 AM pistons: wiseco, srp, crower, arias, ect rods: crower, je, eagle fuel pump: walbro 255 lph injectors: get some turbo eclipse injectors 450cc for $50 a set i'd get the block posted (pinned) instead of a block guard. intercooler you can use any that will mount under your bumper guard just make sure the piping is on the top or bottom. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
