First Project of '06 - Toyota Soarer (In Progress)digitalbanzai 01-02-2006, 11:09 PM Finally I get to start a new kit, this time in the form of a 1/24 scale 1991 Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC400 by Fujimi. I'm really not sure what I want to do with it, but this is a beautiful car and I have to do it justice somehow. Any ideas? http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/222.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/444.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/555.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/666.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/734.JPG Here's what we have so far, simple gray primer and the factory wheels. Hopefully something will come of it. :) thanks ilovecaprice 01-02-2006, 11:17 PM wow beautiful line! the style of this car is one of the best in toyota, I think. keep it up. how 'bout wine red :) tonioseven 01-03-2006, 12:01 AM 19" VIP wheels; Cobra Colors paint. 'nuff said! :sunglasse digitalbanzai 01-03-2006, 12:22 AM Lol, I cant find any good VIP wheels for the life of me. Everyone is either sold out, or they have the old S-Parts wheels. Jaymes 01-03-2006, 12:57 AM stick in a 2jz from the supra kit and throw on some staggered bbs meshies, black with chrome lips. Make the car black too. :D digitalbanzai 01-03-2006, 12:58 AM I actually do have a 2JZ in my hands, just no wheels. :( digitalbanzai 01-03-2006, 01:36 AM I made a call to the guys down in R&D and they sent me back this picture. Is that what I think it is? http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/324.JPG nvusgt 01-03-2006, 01:46 AM nice, i love soarers Jaymes 01-03-2006, 03:00 AM lol are you killing an existing supra for its heart :( supra86 01-03-2006, 03:09 AM puting an 2jz in a soarer: good, killing a perficly good supra: bad, yould better make it worth it, good luck by the way. digitalbanzai 01-03-2006, 04:46 AM That Supra may soon find itself a new powerplant. ;) digitalbanzai 01-03-2006, 07:00 PM Upon further review, it seems cutting up the chassis to fit the 2Jz into the Soarer is going to make the model weak and flexible, it would have required way too much risky cutting than I want to mess with. I'll add a few more pictures in a bit, she is prepped and ready for paint, now if only I had a set of wheels. digitalbanzai 01-03-2006, 11:24 PM I stepped on it and broke it! No, just kidding, but she is prepped and ready for paint. Here it sits in the garage, it's wearing wheels from an Enzo, but obviously those are for the Enzo, :P http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/soarernew.JPG cham2020 01-03-2006, 11:29 PM wow wicked !!!! digitalbanzai 01-04-2006, 03:55 AM It's finally starting to come together and look like a car. http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/s1012.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/s102.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/s103.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/s104.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/s105.JPG With it's future brothers. :) Not the best example but I think I may do it this color, yay, nay? http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/vettese.JPG (Wow, my camera really catches dust nicely, wouldnt you say? :P) cham2020 01-04-2006, 04:10 AM yeah, my camera also like yours ,catches lots of dusts :D.... anyway, that red color seem hot on the soarer. !!!! kaho 01-04-2006, 04:37 PM Does the fujimi model of this car look accurate? If I remember correctly Aoshima also made this car in the same scale. This might be a little too late to input, but how about building the car in stock form, and putting some interior junk such as magazine, pop cans, books, cell phone holders, flipped down sun visor(s), seat belts etc in the passenger compartment as of the car is owned and driven, then finish it off with a half rolled down window? Anyways, good luck on your build whatever you have decided! digitalbanzai 01-04-2006, 05:26 PM Yeah, it's pretty accurate if you ask me. Lacks a lot of details but it has great proportions and fitment. One of the good Fujimi molds. ;) deltableh 01-04-2006, 09:13 PM I love that car man. I can't wait to see how it comes out! digitalbanzai 01-04-2006, 10:16 PM Well, it's first coat of paint is on, still not rolling on it's new wheels yet, but it's getting there. Interior should be done soon as well. For some reason the paint isn't having the best of time, but it can be resolved. Does this color work? http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/newwithz.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/new02.JPG http://upload.streetracingdayton.com/pics/new033.JPG deltableh 01-04-2006, 10:26 PM Hot, hot, hot! Man, if I had an LS400 in that color, I'd be set! Like I said, I love that car, and you're doing it amazing justice. digitalbanzai 01-05-2006, 12:03 AM Thanks, its shaping up well. :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
