on the 3.2L sohc?

I'm guessing somewhere in the high 3k rpm range?

I would say it begins around the low 3k range, it peaks at 4k. Just look up the specs for any vehicle to find where the peak is, they will usually list the max hp and torque and at what rpm it occurs.

For 97 passport/rodeo it is
Power: 190 HP @ 5,600 rpm; 188 ft lb @ 4,000 rpm

The peaks are lower for '98-99
205 HP @ 5,400 rpm; 214 ft lb @ 3,000 rpm

Ok, that's what I've found as well, just wasnt sure if the sources were correct.

So, in this case, there's no point in taking the rpm's higher then say 4k for pulling purposes in a 97 & older, and likewise for 3k for a 98+ ?

I don't know about the torque band, but I did find the power band: :)

Love that power band! :evillol: Either way, the 3.2's are rev happy little beasts. The 1998+ really would be better suited for a small, light RWD roadster with a slick 5-6spd manual. That thing would fly.
