new subwoofer setup - low profileedstorm 01-01-2006, 09:53 PM this is my plan: buy a pol MOMO 8" inch subwoofer and replace the stock subwoofer. then rewire it to a small alpine mrp-350 amp would give 350 rms at 2 ohms. best i could do to keep low profile. the amp actually fits underneath the passenger seat. but I kind of came upon a small problem. since people here have prob done the removal of the rear panels, i can't seem to disconnect the power plug in the back of my xterra 2003. ANy ideas on how to do that? thanks. edstorm 01-01-2006, 09:57 PM another question: anyone know how many channels the rockford fos stock system has? oh and by the way, I bought new 2 ohm speakers and swapped the fronts out and I hardly see any improvement really over stock(rockford fosgate) so if you plan on doing it, I don't recommend it. I did it with infinity kappa's. oh and my system somehow hits harder when the subwoofer enclosure is off :) I also chose the polk momo 8" because it was designed for small emclosures with little space. I will install the sub foirst without the amp and I'll tell you if I see any big difference. oh and I have been reading the forums a lot over the months and I don't think anyone has recommended a good LCD receiver for the xterra. I recommend the KVT-715dvd. Its an older model but the thing with it is that besides the good quality sound i get from it, it's speaker controls are in the part that moves out of the receiver. If you ever install one in your system you will noticed that the lcd will need to be extended a little and it might make controlling the volume harder besides using the touchscreen to do it. The volume buttons on the left makes this really easy to do instean. Very nice I must say. e-mail me if you want pics of the setup. Very clean. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
