anyone know how difficult it is to replace the cat. on a 2000 altima? dealer wants to charge a friend $700 to replace. that sounds like about $500 in labor to me, but perhaps i'm missing something. will it have to be on a rack to get to it? isn't there just a set of bolts (and gasket) on the exhaust manifold side, and another set of bolts on the exhaust pipe side? or is there a weld in there?

its just the 4 bolts holding it on. $700 is crap. you can get those bolts off, but it will take some work. if they are like mine, they are just rusted on pretty good. goodluck with that
