How do the WRX's Age?franko360 12-31-2005, 01:12 AM I am in the market for a new vehicle(commuter and skiing)and I drive 120mi round trip to work. You probably won't believe this, but I test drove a 2006 WRX TR today. It is the first time I have ever driven a Subaru and I am very impressed with this car. I have a tendency to hold onto cars for a long time (7-10yrs) and I am wondering how long these last. I'm not going to be standing on it like a crazy man. I'm kind of a conservative driver, but I do like the speed. What kind of repairs will I be looking at if I keep it for 200k+ miles? I have heard both ways, that it lasts only about 80k before it starts needing parts or that it's bombproof. What do you long time owners have to say. Thank you for any input. Frank Subaru's reliability and longevity are on par with those of Hondas and Toyotas, i.e., pretty much as good as it gets. If you take care of your car, you should be able to get many, many years of service out of it. Any car, if you drive more than 150k, would most likely need a transmission work around that time.... freakray 01-01-2006, 02:17 PM I put 100K on my '98 RS before I sold it and never had a day's issue, I only sold it to move up to an '03 at the time. As Keita says, they're as solid as it gets. freakray 01-02-2006, 10:38 PM You know what's weird....I was looking through the FAQ yesterday and this topic is covered there to the best part.... franko360 01-04-2006, 01:59 PM You know what's weird....I was looking through the FAQ yesterday and this topic is covered there to the best part....
