4.3L oil pressure sensor

On my 1992 jimmy the oil pressure is fine but once its hot for a while it will go up to 80 and down to 10 but its fine when its cold. Im told theses sensors wear out often on the 4.3 and do this, so is this true or is it a bigger problem? If it is the sensor where is it and is it hard to replace?

The oil sender is in back of the engine back by the distributor. Get an oil sender socket to remove (easiest). Actually if it's never been changed before you will need to sizes. One for the OEM, and a smaller one for the replacement.

Normally when the truck is cold it run up to around 80 with load and 60 @ idle. When hot it should drop to around 20-25 at idle and 35-40@ load.
