Honda cr250; online manual, crack in case, and water in bottom end

I just received a loaner 84 cr250 for me to ride. It was not running for reasons of a bad head gasket... which I found out was just the start of the problems. The head gasket leaked so badly that all of the coolant was either in the exhaust, the cylinder, or the crankcase. I repeat... ALL of it :) Fun project anyway.

The bores look good, as does the piston and rings, but the bottom end has been soaking in water for a few months now. Should I just dry it out, bathe it in oil for a while and run it anyway? Or should I pull it out and rebuild?

The gearbox has a slight crack right around the drain plug. Should I have my buddy TIG weld it while its out, or will that harm the case worse than it is?

Is there an online PDF manual for this bike that anyone knows of?

Thanks

do not try to use the bearings that were exposed to coolant. It is very hard on them and you will have to do a rebuild very soon if you use them. I would do a fresh rebuild the right way, will save alot of money in the long run.
