95 S-10 Blazer motor lockskenn11469 12-29-2005, 06:43 PM 95 S-10 blazer 4.3 L When i try to start the engine cranks for about 2 seconds and locks up, replaced starter still have same problem. Someone told me it could be in tranny or torq converter any comments before i pay to tear apart the tranny? RahX 12-30-2005, 12:48 AM you can unbolt the converter and shove it towards teh trans and try it. WARNING: if the motor starts shut it down immediately as the converter may slide forward and contact the flexplate. = not good but its still easier than takin out the trans ;) as for anything else, take out the plugs too, see if its a hydrolock situation. is the oil overfull? are the injectors draining fuel into the intake? kenn11469 12-30-2005, 05:57 AM you can unbolt the converter and shove it towards teh trans and try it. It sounds like it is hydrostatic lock. It is when a cylinder or all cylinder overfill with gas and can not get rid of it. And what happens is air can be compressed easier than a liquid so when the piston comes up it can not complete it's stroke and that's why it stops cranking. I watched a guy shatter 2 rods going through a creak and getting water in his motor. So some how you are getting too much fuel. Maybe a faulty injector or something but that's what it sounds like. kenn11469 12-30-2005, 06:25 PM It sounds like it is hydrostatic lock. Thanks, i'll pull plugs and crank over see if it turns over. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
