Hiya guys,

After subscribing some time ago and following some threads I decided to start my first one here. :)

The Corvette C6 (Revell) is my 4th project as a builder. My previous ones where Carrera GT/Merc. 600S/Enzo Ferrari. :sunglasse

After working several days I made the following progress:

+ Body prepared for primer
+ Taking out trunklid
+ Washing/Cleaning

Ok guys,

The hinges for the trunklid have been made&installed: There made from a hook from a X-Mas ornament and some plastic tubing :screwy:
:eek7:

Oke guys,

After some hours work, I've finished clearing the grille of that pathetic excuse for mesh :screwy: Furthermore I corrected some primer-errors & reopened the panellines (too much primer :p )

Here are the pics

Should you notice some mistakes or have any other feedback, please state your case!!!

P.S. Does anyone know how I can change the thread-name???

PM a mod to change a thread name. Try PMing Freakray. Keep up the awsome work!

Tnx Blubaja,

I thought that changing a thread name would be easier....

Guess I'll leave it this way.

Tnx for the offer Tonioseven, but I was just wondering if there was a possiblity to change the thread-name with every progress-posting....

I'm also participating in a Dutch forum on modelling and that one has the opportunity to do so...

Tnx anyway,

How do you like my C6 so far?

Hey guys,

Back again with some progress..... :screwy:

After Pm-ing with Kunta (master-builder), I decided to clear the doors from the body. How to hinge them, I don't know yet, but I won't follow the how to....

Don't mind the scratchings on the body, I will touch them up by priming the body... :)

Here are the Pics...

nice job so far!

El Exotico
01-04-2006, 06:11 PM
Yeah....the hinges will be a pain in the *ss, but guess I'll have to figure some things out about the exact position and stuff first....

Tnx 4 the feedback

Chassis+drivetrain completed&decalled:

Allrighty then....

Just completed the paintjob on the C6 Corvette..... :sunglasse

The results (dry-fitted) are as follows:
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/32.jpg
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/33.jpg
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/34.jpg

Then I screwed up and the roof got damaged.....tried to repaint it and ended up with a wetspot :nono:
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/35.jpg

Guess I'll have to start over on the roof

Note: I still have to paint the frontwindow (also wipers) and the grille black...

It looks like the front of the Corvette is worped. Is this true or is it the picture, because I have a C5 Vette that I never started because the body was worped like it looks like in your picture.

Anyways, fantastic job !

Hey cooltc2004,

The body is not worped, it's just the pic I guess....

Thx 4 the post though

2day it's my birthday and here's my present to you:

Just finished polishing&waxing the body:
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/42.jpg

I also completed the enginebay & trunk.... By dotting on the paint @ the trunk a kind of suede effect was formed. I still have to lay a second layer down and then it will be completed!
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/45.jpg
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/44.jpg

This picture describes the fitting of a Revell kit.....anyone interested?
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/43.jpg

Finally I completed the doorhinges! I still have to putty the space of the hinges, but the idea is there...
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/46.jpg

Any comments will be welcomed!

it looks as though the chassis of your kit is warped. that is why you are having fit issues. This is the first I've seen this.

El Exotico
01-09-2006, 01:44 PM
Hey white97ex; looks like you're right man!

The bottom is really bend, but I hope 2 correct this when I attach the body to the chassis.

Back in the game with some more progress...

Added last engine parts+carpet in the trunk+interior. Also made a dry-fit of the opened doors....

The warped chassis is no more :evillol: thanks to attaching chassis to the interior-part

Here are the pics...

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/49.jpg

Still got some touchin' up to do on the body, luckily I bought 400ml. of spraypaint so let's get it on

Any comments please?

lookin better each time. The interior tub and chassis fitment looks terrible, I had similar problems with my revell C5 vette

El Exotico

Whasup guys,

Been a while, but I've made some progress on the Vette C6:smokin:

Interior has been fully completed in Flat Black and Silver:
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/55.jpg
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/56.jpg

Furthermore all decals have been placed and the doors have been connected to the hinges. The position of the doors on these pics isn't very good, but when opened, they fit exactly to the body. The rubberbands where needed in order to glue the body to the chassis.
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/57.jpg
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/58.jpg

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/60.jpg
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Exotico/Corvette%20C6/61.jpg

One of the trunkhinges let loose during the build and will be reconnected. Paint has quite a few spots which need to be touched up.... The completely finished C6 will be revealed in my next (and final) post.

Comments and/or compliments are welcome!

Grtz,

El Exotico

P.S. sorry for the big pics, but Photobucket doesn't resize that well :screwy:

hey VERY nice model car. i love the color. also this is really good quality for your fourth? model car. anyway the kit came out really good. the warping problem puzzles me however. ive built this kit and everything fit perfect, no warping or thin spots except at the front edge of the hood. anyway GREAT job. catch you later

Tnx for the kind words guys,

The warping problem seems to me like a fabrication error, but it came out reasonably good in the end....
