reading codesjkdon 12-28-2005, 11:06 PM I was wondering if I could read codes from a flashing check engine light on a 97 LS? or do I need a scan tool? I use to be able to jump a couple leads with a paperclip on my old ford pickup which would send me through a bunch of flashing lights that could be interpreted into a engine troble code. thanks jkdon Rick Norwood 12-28-2005, 11:31 PM I was wondering if I could read codes from a flashing check engine light on a 97 LS? or do I need a scan tool? That's pretty old technology that I think went out when OBDII came in. Go to Autozone and get your codes read for free. dmbrisket 51 12-29-2005, 12:36 AM no, that was done away with obd I, your 97 has an obd II computer vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
