Dead Speedo and Odometer...wasn't VSS...Please Helpfenderman33 12-28-2005, 06:03 PM I have a 93 S10 pickup, 2wd 2.5. The speedometer and the odometer haven't worked since I got the truck. I put in a new speed sensor today and it didn't fix it. I pulled the gauge cluster and jumped the speedo pin to ground and got a reading, so I know the needle works, I'm just not getting any signal from the sensor. I checked voltage at the sensor and didn't have anything. Checked the wires from it to the fire wall and they looked good. What am I missing? I'd appreciate any help. Jon dmbrisket 51 12-29-2005, 12:39 AM the last one i seen, was a clipped wire from poor machanics work, happend to be the 5 v signel wire, have to hunt for it, took us hours in the shop to find it on the hoist fenderman33 12-29-2005, 12:42 AM the last one i seen, was a clipped wire from poor machanics work, happend to be the 5 v signel wire, have to hunt for it, took us hours in the shop to find it on the hoist Where do the wires for it run from inside the cab? I can see them from the firewall to the sensor, but not under the dash. If I knew where to trace I could trace. Are there any other things it could be? Thanks, Jon dmbrisket 51 12-29-2005, 12:51 AM could be lots of things from a pinched wire to a bad ecm/pcm circut, how does the cv ring look? chewed up or nice? rlith 12-29-2005, 07:23 AM Have you taken a look at the DRAC module? fenderman33 12-29-2005, 10:08 AM Have you taken a look at the DRAC module? No I haven't...where/what is is? Jon rlith 12-29-2005, 10:12 AM The DRAC module is attached to your ECM under the dash. Essentially it converts the signal from your VSS to work with your speedo fenderman33 12-29-2005, 07:15 PM The DRAC module is attached to your ECM under the dash. You can take it apart and meter everything in it based on the coding of the caps, resistors, et-al vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
