Better lighting?

On my latest long drive at 65 in the fog, I decided I am utterly unhappy with the lighting on my '91 Trooper.

On of the headlights developed a water leak (that I am now fixing) and the bulb blew. The inside of the lens is very dirty. I would like to get a better pair of lens/reflectors to go with better bulbs (the idea being that better aimed brighter light with better defined edges is a good thing because, obviously the light is brighter, and that in fog/rain/ there is less reflection back to me). I would also like some good fog lights (the kind that actually work: low (for the truck) mounted, sharp edged, low back reflection). And I have no idea where to look. Money is an issue, but not that big of an issue. Headlamps come first... That's all I can think of. Anyone?

Thanks!

*bump*

I talked to a specialty shop about this, and he hastily looked in his book and said I'd have to go with auxillery lights. I'd prefer to just replace the lense and bulb. He was thinking PIAA 510 fogs...

I know what you mean...there have been several times I've checked to see if my lights were even on lol

One of my headlight lenses has a crack in it from a rock and water is sloshing around in the bottom. Bulb hasn't burnt out yet but i'm sure that'll come next. Went to the local parts house and they said it would cost me $320. I told the guy he's smokin crack if he thinks that I'd pay it, and we both knew I'd be hunting junkyards. Anyway, I'm thinking of making the switch to those 'blue' lightbulbs. Was also thinking of adding fog lights too.

Forget about those POS blue bulbs, get yourself some Silverstars.

I installed the Silverstars about a year ago. It's definite improvement.
Cost isn't that bad.

Any auto parts store, walmart, anyone with an automotive department really. I think they run around $20-25 each. Might be less.

No one else has heard of a better lense system, eh? If that's the case, I guess I'll just clean out both lenses really well and put some better bulbs in there. I don't think auxillery lights would survive very long the way I sometimes drive through bushes in the road. :icon16:
