High CR effect on boost

We all know that high CR are not the best thing to run with a turbocharger, but assuming that you can prevent detonation would a higher CR engine make more power than a low CR engine with the same amount of boost? Yes I know you can run more boost in a lower CR and that will more than make up the difference, but given the same pressure can the high CR make more power?

yes, a higher compression ratio will make more power than a low compression ratio on the same ammount of boost if you can suppress knock without retarding timing and stuff.

it's just like increasing the compression ratio on a n/a car but there's more air in the combustion chamber.

the problem w/ higher comp is that you have less control over ignition when you start getting into higher boost because the air might start igniting itself rather than the spark plug doing it.....much like a diesel.

otherwise known as knocking, which he stated was not involved in this question. he was just asking if, all things remaining equal, an increase in compression ration will yield an increase in power.

one more thing, it will also decrease turbo lag
