4wd Service LightteigenFL 12-20-2005, 09:14 AM I drive an '02 Tahoe Z71 and this last weekend I was pulling a trailer with a couple 4-wheelers loaded on it. I pulled into a driveway, and started spinning in 2wd. I was worried about the trailer sliding down into the ditch, so I quickly reached and hit the 4HI button. At this point the indicator lights went out, and after a few seconds the Service 4WD light came on. Any ideas on what happened. The tires may have still been spinning when I hit the button. Any ideas on fixes and possible costs involved. Thanks, Lars teigenFL 12-23-2005, 12:11 PM Fixed it. I disconnected the ground lead on the battery, and reset the encoder switch on the transfer case. This resulted in the "Service 4WD" light to go off, but the LEDs on the dash still were not lit. Checking the fuse box, I found the ATC (Automatic Transfer Case) fuse was blown. After replacing the fuse and starting the ignition, the problem seems to have been solved. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
