Thanks for providing the link. I could barely figure out how to even post the pictures and even then i messed that up. I live in philadelphia and my wife works for temple. It is a small world. Thanks for the compliments! I wish that I had better pic's, When I put it up on a lift I will take pictures of the suspension and the rest of the undercarriage. And yes it is very fast! Almost too fast for the street I usualy just try to keep it at a low rpm but if I push the pedal down more than an inch it will take off and the trans will down shift. Not good for traffic jams and light to light, But thats the price that you have to pay for fun!

Great! Small world isn't it. Just one question. How do you feel about power braking to spin the tires? I let someone at work drive my Blazer, He had fun driving it around the compound (closed off) when he got back he procceeded to power brake and spin the tires, after I could see again and stopped coughing, Lets just say, I politely asked him to get out of the truck! I put all of that work into the suspension to make sure the power got to the ground and if I wanted to spin tires I would put on some cheap tires not the Z rated ones that are on it. Don't get me wrong. I love to stomp the pedal when I can get away with it. Testosterone GOOD! Boredom BAD! Adrenaline GOOD! Tickets BAD!

s10blazerman4x4
12-22-2005, 10:52 PM
I agree but why did you not reach in there and pull his butt out. I wouldnt take none of that power braking BS. Now if im gonna do it then fine but i dont like seeing other people doing that to my stuff because if it breaks im stuck paying for it.

Ok im having a problem where the reply button is not there and im having to goto post reply instead.GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Blazer SS
12-22-2005, 11:22 PM
Then you know just how I feel. Almost any car or truck can power brake. All I could picture was my drive shaft coming up thru my floorboard. And all you will hear is "SORRY MAN".

s10blazerman4x4
12-22-2005, 11:24 PM
when i someone else drives it.Take for instance my sister. I never would let her drive my truck becuz she has a lawnmower engine in her cavalier and the min she get behind the wheel of my bone stock tbi blazer pre v8 it be on the floor. Its like back off already lol.So offtrack here
Where did you get that SC?Procharger or Wynjammer or somewhere off

12-22-2005, 11:38 PM
I got the Vortech polished V2 sq trim supercharger. It is a complete system and the fit is perfect. Try Superchargers4less their prices are great. they sell most of the major companys and also they are authorized dealers. With a V8 you will be unstopable, a force fed smallblock in a Blazer, Unfathonable!

s10blazerman4x4
12-22-2005, 11:43 PM
My friend is looking for one for his 97 noma 4.3. Did you have to change out the bottom end?I was told i wouldnt have too since the stock 5.7 TBI can go 360 but my 700r4 will have to be rebuilt for the increased power and torque.Your setup got me thinking about it in a year or so.I got some bills right now to pay for the v8 but that would be great. Right now who would think their be a v8 in their with my 3 tone paint job.I got spray paint front clip rest of body same.IT is my 1000 post.

Blazer SS
12-23-2005, 12:15 AM
The V6 engine is plenty strong. As you know it is basicly a 350 with two cylinders cut off. Just change out the pistons. there is an article in one of the posts where they did a V6 to almost 400hp and said that it would handle 450hp very easily all day long. And the 4l60e can handle 400hp. The real real easy fix for power should be the replacement of the rocker arms, put in 1.6 roller tips. Less than a $100 and it only takes a few hours and if it is a vortec there is no adjustment you just put them in. It is like putting in a bigger cam. Just get a less restrictive intake and a less restrictive exhaust nice increase for your motor. Then think about other mods. AND CONGRATS ON THE THOUSANDTH POST!!

s10blazerman4x4
12-23-2005, 12:23 AM
I know thats what i told him. He has 2wd and he wanted to go lower then i performed some free mods for him lol and he changed his mind he wants power.I think his only had 175 stock. I know bout them rockers theres a good writeup with part numbers over at s10forum.He hollowed at the cat and is gonna buy a muffler from me i got for the v8 and wont be using now lol. I have that article around here somewhere and i got one on the TBI v8s for offroad use holy crap some good info that one, like cams and what not.Yup i used 1000 here 1001 on another post and 1002 here again.

s10blazerman4x4
12-23-2005, 12:27 AM
I know what i want to do the V8 down the road.
Vortec heads and the vortec intake manifold for tbi.
Vette Rad since core support is cut now for the 4.3 why not go to the better rad.
See what type of rockers i can use on them heads, im thinking roller rockers should work but i have to look into it some more.
Holley 650 CFM tbi.
Thats what i can think of now.

Very Very Nice. Not too often do you see a vehichle that has such widespread agreement. You should be quite please.

Thank you.

Blazer SS

Yes, I plan on keeping the radio and the tape player is stock, I just updated my steering wheel to a 2002 with radio controls on it. My daughter is trying to make me get a flip up screen for the dash I still like the stock version. If you look on ebay you can buy a stock remote cassette player for about $30 And you can also find the trim piece there. I also added a stainless trim ring to my gauge cluster and a billet cap to my shifter and a set of billet knobs for the light and climate control knobs.

Go to www.Vortechsuperchargers.com they sell a complete kit. From the fuel pumps the FMU, the Crane IS6 ignition, the retard knobs. and last but not least the supercharger itself. Just remember that this is only a starting point. Superchargers4less has the best price. Make sure that your engine is in perfect running order if not the supercharger will just magnify your problems. Next realy think about getting forged pistons and a stronger crank, and just keep building and strengthening your engine.

Thanks for the info....I dont think Ill be going as far with my engine as putting a supercharger on it. I plan on putting new rockers on it and a new exhaust for now...Ill go with the pistons and the cam when I have to rebuild it. Im not going to use it for racing so I realy dont need all that much power...Basicaly ill be using it for a daily driver and trail riding and possibly a little mudding.

I want to include the engine under boost just as it shifts from 3rd to 4th and of corse an entrance onto the highway from a standstill. I drive mostly with the radio off, the sound from the engine is amazing!!

All of this as soon as my Daughter gets time to upload and put together the video's (I really am helpless).

Thanks, I have had that article in my desk for over a year, That is a factory effort with a v8, they also use a overseas front facia, If you look at the second page.

Mine was done in my driveway and I have more HP! I also use the SS on my truck because it stands for Super Sport Which if you go by Chevy's definition my Blazer is well in it's rights to have the SS on it.

The video is great ,but that looks like a typhoon to me. I'm going to save that, because that is exactly why I wanted to customize my Blazer In the first place.

If you realy want to see some realy fast Blazers go to race proven motors and watch the video and look at the pictures.

Hey didn't mean to insult, i was just saying.. there is not real ss, power to you, i would love to be pushing your whip, but to me nothing is better then a L series v8 in a blazer, because where you max out, the v8 starts. Hope you dont take my internet talk to serious, the whole reason you do your blazer like the way you do, is because its yours, dont let me or anyone else tell you what to think.

Thing is its a his verison of an SS. Yea thats a nice blazer with the lt4 but why do you need it the 4.3 vortec is a bitchin engine as it is. Plus money doesn't grow on trees.

What makes you think your a kid.

All the kids these days say you car isnt good if it doesn't have a v8. He did all that to his blazer himself , not with a team of guys, jeez give him a break you probably dont even have a car.

I honestly like your Blazer, love the supercharger! Don't judge me because of what i say, you dont know if im a 13 year old boy, or a 75 year old man, don't try to break it down like you know who i am outside of the internet, Have a good day.

I am going to be blunt here, but shut up about the V8.

For cripes sake it is easy to drop in a V8 for power, it takes skill and hard work to make a 4.3L put out 325+HP.

You keep on going on and on about a V8 and wonder why people are getting pissy at you. You are insulting the thread starter with a great truck that I am envious of (in a good way).

So if you want to talk about a V8, start your own thread, but stop going on and on about how a V8 is somehow better than what he has.

Do that makes you look like a kid because no mature adult would be so rude.

no the impala is supercharged and its aways sucked gas. Its got the LT1 and its black :), i tried to go with the hole undercover cop deal. I know someone with a 2001 Tahoe with a V8 and they get better mileage than I do. They average is about 15-17 MPG while i manage to get 14-15 MPG with my 4.3l. (Remember that this V8 is newer and has improved technology so most V8's are not like this)..... Just look at the new 2007 tahoe it has MDS shutting off 4 cylinders.

I like the motto they have for these engines........ We dont need a smaller engine we just need a smarter engine

I actually just started a thread about gas mileage improvement so whatever you have to get better gas mileage you can just post it there.....

You have to admit that Blazer SS has a pretty bitchin blazer though...... think of it as a newer chevy version of the Typhoon

It's a never ending cycle isn't it? carbon deposits caused by unburnt fuel needing higher octane fuel, in order to run better , which in turn creates more carbon deposits.

This forum has two procedures for removing carbon deposits. One the water method provided by Blazer LT, and the Seafoam method. Both work. try them both but make sure that your engine is properly heated.

Now about the maf sensor cleaning, MY MILEAGE WENT UP ALMOST THREE MILES TO THE GALLON OVERNIGHT!! It went from 12.9 to 14.3, and the throttle response is much better, I forgot to mention that I also removed the screen. I haven't hit the highway yet but believe me I will today. This is unbeleavable , this with two fuel pumps and 500 hp!!! when I hit that button I had to look twice.

My truck uses nothing but synthetic, every fluid except water is man made. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and many of the things that I use came from this site.

I'm sorry, I think that I have to explain something. That 509 HP was done on a dyno with the engine in the truck. The actual number of HP that was measured at the rear wheels was 389HP, The formula that I used for slop from the drivetrain was 15%, since this is an automatic and also a 4 wheel drive the hp came to 447.35HP, the supercharger itself takes 60HP itself just to run it. Add that to the 447 and it comes to 507.35HP. I have been told my slop factor is much higher and I should use at least a 20% factor. I chose the low end. The engine will get a complete rebuild with a stroker kit and a Better fuel management program along with much bigger injectors, this time the engine will be put on a dyno and measured at the flywheel. I have been told to expect between 6-700HP.

[qoute]You have to admit that Blazer SS has a pretty bitchin blazer though...... think of it as a newer chevy version of the Typhoon[/quote]

And you do know that the Typhoon was a turbo, and his ss is supercharged, but its close enough... Hey Blazer SS, i hope you enjoy it, everytime i hear the screw or turbine pushing air and make that high pitched whine, i get tingles down my spine. I like the noise of a turbo/supercharger almost more than anything...

I dont listen to the radio that much. the greatest sound is when you floor it and let your foot off of the throttle, the pop off valve lets out a sound that is hard to describe , sort of a high pitched snarl but its very short. I will have the video and the sound bits posted by this weekend. And you were right, it is kind of getting unstreetable, I have to be very careful when I pull off from traffic lights the front end lifts slightly if I am not very very easy on the pedal. Honestly it is getting kind of old. The best thing is my wife will not drive it. She drove it once about a hundred yards and got out. This after telling me that I drive way to slow in the city!

Why does this truck have two different steering wheels? One pic has the wheel from a newer blazer and another pic has the steering wheel of an older blazer. Very nice work!

I went with a leather and wood sport steering wheel, fit right on, the hardest part was wiring the radio to work with the steering wheel controls. www.jpcustoms.com has the complete kit, the instructions are amazing, you just have to supply your own steering wheel and air bag.

Where did you get your rear axle cover from? I love the clean chrome look of it. Mine is extremely rusted and I would rather get a new one than clean up my old one.
