Aussie Touring Car Champ - Falcon XW

Being a big fan of Australian Touring Car races, I was always looking for 1/25-24 scale model kit replicas. My first attempt was the conversion of a AMT 1966 Nova into Norm Beecheys 1967 season car. Also having kits of a 1969 Monaro and a 1978 Falcon just waiting for suitable decals, I found a aftermarket-production (glassfibre/resin) conversion kit of a 1971 Ford Falcon at a Australian mailorder shop. After recieving this kit, I saw that only a few parts were useable because the body was too small and just a very CRUDE duplication of a Falcon XY. So, I switched back to a AMT '69 Falcon 2dr. , converted the body to a 4-door version and used only a few parts from the Aussie kit. The grill is a combination of a AMT Falcon custom grill and the grill from the Aussie kit, also rearlights, righthand-dashboard, shaker scoop and other parts were also used from this kit. AMT kit supplied chassis and so on, engine, wheels, tires, door handles were found in my spare parts box. The decals for A. Moffats 1971 Ford Falcon XY GT-HO 351 came from PATTOS of Australia. I think, that my models resembles the Falcon quite good, however the roof and rearwindow design is not 100% correct and the windshield wipers are in the wrong position for a RH driven car (just noticed after the body had been painted).
Hope you enjoy this unique race car.

GOOD NEWS!
Just saw, that CJ's of Australia is now offering a resin kit of the 1971 Falcon GT for a reasonable price.
For those interested check: http://www.scaleautomobilia.com.au/resin.htm

Scaleautomobilia is now also offering a Valiant Charger kit from another source. According to the photos this kit does not look as good (roof section correct???) as the Falcon. Did everybody from downunder did already a closer look on this kit?
