i have a 95 civic dx coupe, and it does not have power windows. i can get a jdm power window assembly pretty cheap, but before i buy it im wondering if anyone has done this before, and if the whole thing will fit behind my door panel. im assuming it will because i doubt honda changed the whole door frame to accomidate power windows, but i want to make sure before i spend the money. i know the switch wont fit in my door, but i plan to wire it up elsewhere. also, the way i figure its installed, the power window motor just hooks up to the crank that the handle used to open the window and just turns it. is this going to work? quick replies are appreciated so i dont lose my chance to buy the assembly. thanx

oh, and in case someone tells me to use the search function, i have but everyone who has asked about it seems to replace the whole door panel or get aftermarket kits. i dont mind labor or running pain in the ass wires through the doors or through the fire wall, and am only doing this because i can get the part cheap. will it fit behind a civic dx door panel? and is my approach right?

Well, assuming the JDM one is the same as the US version of power window unit, yes, it will fit behind the door. I'm not sure exactly where the motor hooks up to the regulator, but i'm almost positive that you cannot use the existing regulator. Meaning that you will need the power window regulator and the motor.
