99 540i Battery can't hold the charge!raphyb 12-11-2005, 03:06 PM Hello! this is my last hope, I had taken my 1999 540i to the dealer 5 time$ hoping that they could figure out why the battery keeps drainning in 24-72 hrs periods. after all I still have the same problem, they change batteries twice, replaced wires in the alternator-battery, discconected my spoiler light, ect ect...everytime they will find something to fix but I still have the same problem, I have two solar battery chargers hooked up to the battery and still dies. If you have that problem or you know someone that does and found the way to fix it, please let me know, I love the car and I am not ready to get rid of her.    :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Someone mentioned to me that replacing the ignition switch might fix my problem, I might try that next .. jenniferleathers 09-24-2006, 09:41 PM I had the same thing. They replaced some resistor thing that turned on when the air conditioning was positioned too cold. Look into it. Jennifer jenniferleathers 09-24-2006, 09:51 PM I had the same exact thing. After replacing the battery it still didn't hold a charge. It turned out it was the a/c resister unit. It was working fine until last week when the car will just die in the middle of driving it. Any ideas? Jennifer Leathers vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
