What're the symptoms of a dirty transmission filter?

fluid will run hot, because pump works harder, shifting will be messed up, slippage... just to name a few off the top of my head

Chances are if you have an S10 with symptoms,you need a tranny or get it rebuilt.I have read alot on here about problems and even have dealt with it personally.One day it started to slip,then not shift,then dead,all in one day.

That's why I asked, because I have not yet serviced my trans. filter since I've had my truck, and I've put 17,000 miles on it since then. (the vast majority of them highway miles), and didn't know if I should go spend some money on it or not. :)

75k? id do it every 20-30k. that stuff breaks down quicker than you think. usually if we get a vehicle with over 60k on a tranny with no previous flush + filter change we wont do anything to the tranny itself.
