1.8 engine with oil leak.need some helpcrazydriverz 12-10-2005, 07:49 PM i notice some oil on the ground.so i jack up the car slide under the car and noticed oil to be leaking from a retangular plastic cover or door. i open it and i see the flywheel.could the oil pan gasket leak inside this plastic cover. or is the leak from something else. :dunno: AzTumbleweed 12-11-2005, 07:48 AM If you could see the flywheel then it's probably the rear main seal leaking or the input shaft seal on the transmission. crazydriverz 12-11-2005, 10:55 AM no it is not transmission fluid.its oil.its a plastic cover connected to the oil pan. im assuming it is the oil pan gasket. AzTumbleweed 12-11-2005, 11:02 AM Can't quite follow you since I have the 1.9L. but it sounds like you are talking about an inspection plate on the flywheel cover. There should not be oil in the same compartment as the flywheel. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
